Welcome to my blog!

Hello, my name is Shannon and I’d love to welcome you my little slice of the internet. The Weekly Whisk started in 2024 when I was in my third trimester of our first child. A few years ago I left my corporate job to start my own cleaning business and loved the freedom and peace it brought me. The toll of pregnancy forced me to hang up my broom stick but I refused to let myself be a victim of the 9-5 grind again. This is where The Weekly Whisk was born.

My true passion has and always will be food. Food is my love language. Nothing brings me more joy than sharing my culinary creations with the people I love. Food has always had a huge impact on my life. Growing up my mother cooked amazing meals every night and she refused to cook anything from a box. Everything was made from scratch and while they were your typical American meals, they were authentic and delicious. I worked in the restaurant business for about 10 years, mostly in fine dining. This is where my flare for food really started. The flavors and food combinations from various culinary masterminds was an experience one could only dream of. If you’ve ever seen Ratatouille, I was the real life Remy, but human of course.

Fast forward to present time, I have taken all my experiences and am now pouring them into The Weekly Whisk. This blog was created for everyday people who love to cook real food, in real time on a real budget. Nothing is extravagant but everything is delicious. I want to give my audience a chance to take back their meal planning struggles, difficulties with picky eaters, wasting food and putting holes in their wallets on takeout. I want to bring back family dinners and create a space where food can be a love language for anyone so grab your aprons and let’s start cooking!
